Mexico and C-Major Scale



Mexico - North America
1. The official language is Spanish. Sizeable minorities speak native American.
2. Since the 1500's African and Carribean cultures have blended with the original Indian Civilization.
3. Mestizo means 'mixed culture'.
4. Traditional songs of the Veracruz area are called sones jarachos.
5. There are 4 types of stringed instruments in Veracruzan music, they are a 35 string harp (arpa), 4-string guitar (requinto jarocho),thin guitar (jarana), 6-string guitar.
6. Music from Jalisco is played by a mariachi group which includes, several violins, 2 trumpets, a bass guitar (guitarron), a short 5-string rhythm guitar (vihuela), and a 6-string guitar.

Welcome to the Last rotation of Music

Hello Grade 9's and parents/guardians.
My name is Ms. Hsu and I am teaching Period 1 and 2 Grade 9 music for the last rotation. This blog will be where you can check out what's happening in class.
